Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty which affects the acquisition of fluent and accurate reading and spelling skills; approx. 10% of the population is affected.

The Kilkenny Dyslexia Workshop,  catering for pupils from age 7 up to Junior Certificate, was established in 1988. It is currently situated in the CBS Primary School, Stephen Street, Kilkenny. There are currently 34 pupils in attendance.

The workshop is held on Friday evenings from 5.30 – 7.30 pm. There are generally two 12 week terms – September to December and January to April/May.
